During our family getaway at the Castle, we were delighted by its unique blend of history and comfort. The moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. Our stay in the Chavenage room was memorable; it offered stunning views of the bay and a cozy ambiance perfect for family bonding. The guided tour of the castle provided us with a fascinating glimpse into 400 years of history, enriching our family's appreciation of the past. We enjoyed our leisurely mornings, beginning with breakfast served in a lovely dining room, offering a variety of choices that catered to both adults and kids. What struck us most was the picturesque grounds, ideal for family walks along the coast and through the woods. After a day of exploration, we found the local pub just a short walk away, which added to the experience with a chance to mingle with locals. A true highlight was the Taste of West Cork Food Festival, an event that we were fortunate to attend during our visit, making it a delightful addition to our stay. The Castle proved to be an excellent family-friendly retreat, making our brief escape feel like a genuine holiday.
